September was a busy month for the Hinsdale Central Social Studies Department. They hosted 20 leaders from area high schools at the DuPage County Democracy Schools Fall Meeting on September 12th. Our talented educators led important discussions on key teaching strategies in civic-minded schools as well as the vision and leadership necessary to implement this work. Just over a week later, the department welcomed a group of local League of Women Voters who registered over 80 HC students to vote in the upcoming elections. Both events demonstrate the dedication our members have to collaborating with other schools and extending student learning beyond the classroom.
