Participating in Hinsdale Central’s & Hinsdale South’s music programs enriches students’ high school experience and, according to research, correlates with increased academic success.

“An examination of 2001 SAT scores revealed that music students scored about 11 percent higher than non-music students. Students with coursework/experience in music performance and music appreciation scored higher on the SAT than students with no arts participation, about 60 points higher in verbal area of the SAT and over 40 points higher in math. (CEEB, 2001)” (National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS)).
