Courtney Gillette named 2021 IDTA Coach of the Year

The Illinois Drill Team Association (IDTA) has named Courtney Gillette, head Danceline coach at Hinsdale South, its 2021 Coach of the Year. Ms. Gillette earned this honor after being selected from nominations that were submitted by team members, parents, and fellow coaches.

Hinsdale South’s Varsity Danceline, under the direction of Ms. Gillette, achieved several top honors this year, including winning West Suburban Conference (for the first time in school history), placing 7th at IHSA State (the highest IHSA finish in school history), and being named IDTA Pom Dance Champions. This makes for Varsity Danceline’s 17th state championship.

Ms. Gillette is assisted by JV Danceline coach Lexi Miuccio. JV also earned the title of IDTA Pom Dance Champion at this year’s state competition.
